Give the Gift Of The Arts This Holiday Season! Make a Loved One’s Dream Come True with Acting Classes from Prometeo Theatre

Miami, December 18, 2012 - This upcoming holiday season, give the gift of the arts through Prometeo Theatre’s spring classes. Actors of all ages and levels can refine their craft or make their dreams come true with the prestigious Prometeo Theatre, the dramatic arts component of the acclaimed Center for Literature and Theatre @ MDC located in the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College.

Prometeo Theatre will offer classes at night during the week and on Saturdays during the day for Acting, Voice and Diction, Introduction to Playwriting, Acting for the Camera and Laboratory for the Camera for any actor interested in starting or continuing their acting career.

Classes for Adults

Preparing the Actor

This class prepares the actor physically, vocally and emotionally in different acting styles and techniques. Class focuses on improvisation, monologue and scene work.

Mondays, January 28 - April 22, 7 to 10 p.m.; $200

 

Introduction to Playwriting

For a more complete formation of the artist who has an interest in writing, Prometeo offers a class that combines elements of theory with simple projects that allow one to apply the knowledge acquired. Wednesdays, January 23 – April 10; 7 to 10 p.m.; $200

 

Voice and Diction

This class improves diction, vocal strength and delivery, teaching students how to project, breathe and speak with clarity in front of an audience.

Thursdays, January 24 - April 11, 7 to 10 p.m.; $180

 

Acting for the Camera

Acting for a camera is quite different from acting on the stage. This class introduces students to a variety of techniques and industry practices, from basic camera technique to repetition and replication strategies.

Saturdays, January 26 - April 20, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; $280

 

Laboratory for the Camera

An advanced class that incorporates different scripts for TV and film for students who have already taken Voice and Diction and Acting for the Cameras. Those who have experience in acting are also welcome.

Saturdays, January 26 - April 20, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.; $280

 

Classes for Children/Teens

Prometeitos

This program invites children to explore the world of dance, acting and singing by participating in fun activities that develop creative possibilities in a dynamic and intensive setting where students also get the chance to improve their Spanish!

Saturdays, January 26 – April 20, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; $240

 

Discovering the actor in Teens

A beginner’s course that teaches improvisation and acting exercises in a fun setting that will develop the student’s passion for the theatre.

Saturdays, January 26 - April 20, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; $200

The deadline to register is the day the class starts.
