MCI students’ winning recipe consisted of barbeque brisket slathered with a homemade original sauce, cole slaw and mofongo fritters. They competed against four other top culinary schools.
“We are very proud of our students that competed in the AIWF BBQ Battle. They worked tirelessly to create the winning recipe and it was evident when they were awarded the People’s Choice Award,” said MCI Director John Richards.”
The BBQ Battle was hosted by the South Florida Chapter of the AIWF at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale. Local chefs and restaurants also offered their best dishes with complemented selections of wine.
