Miami Dade College’s Koubek Center to Celebrate World Book Day with Simultaneous, International Read-Along of Don Quixote

Miami, April 17, 2013 - Miami Dade College ’s (MDC) Koubek Center will join 30 cities from around the world in a read-along of the Spanish novel, Don Quixote. The simultaneous rendition of the famed masterpiece will take place during World Book Day, Tuesday, April 23.  

The Koubek Center will join the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, for twelve straight hours, beginning at 10 a.m. In Miami, representatives from different cultural institutions, as well as other invited guests and the public at large will also take part in the uninterrupted reading of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’s tale. Videos and pictures will streamline the reading of the classic novel from different international forums, including a live connection with Madrid. 

The Circulo de Bellas Artes will have telephone connections and videoconferences with 30 cities around the world, including San Juan (Puerto Rico), Asuncion (Paraguay), Mexico City, Lima (Peru), Santa Ana (El Salvador ), Sydney (Australia), Beijing (China), Amman (Jordan), Beirut (Lebanon), New York, Boston (USA), Pretoria (South Africa), Palermo (Sicily), Helsinki (Finland), and other cities across Spain.
