Miami, April 19, 2013 - Allow us to set the scene: A group of strangers meets in the same place at the same time, for no specific reason. This forced union awakens a series of emotions that brings them together, separates them, and at the same time, generates a feeling of distrust and terror, before an unknown observer. Thus, the play, Pierrot-Pierrot, reveals the growing lack of communication among humans. Miami Dade College’s Prometo Theatre will feature the performance on April 26 & 27, at 8 p.m., at the Wolfson Campus.

Pierrot-Pierrot is an experimental theater production based on the book by Cuban writer, Antonio Orlando Rodriguez, one of the leading authors of contemporary Latin American fiction and Winner of the prestigious Alfaguara Prize. It’s directed by Cristina Rebull and features second-year Conservatory actors Karen Almeida, Paul Bangel, Maria Paula Cruz, Gilles Figuier, Ester Gatica, Pier Lendaro, and Darien Sotolongo.

Prometo Theatre is the nation’s leading Spanish-language conservatory for actors, and is a component of The Center for Literature and Theatre @ Miami Dade College (MDC). Auditions for this distinctive program will take place April 29 & 30.
