Miami Dade College Students Recognized by Florida College System

Some of the MDC Students of ALl-Florida Academic Team

Miami, April 29, 2013 - More than a dozen Miami Dade College (MDC) students were selected to become part of the prestigious All-Florida Academic Team – a prestigious recognition by the Florida College System. The distinction is bestowed upon these students for their academic achievement, leadership, and service to the community.

The All-Florida Academic Team is made up of students who were nominated by their respective colleges to the All-USA Academic Team competition, sponsored by USA Today and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society.

The Florida College System, in conjunction with the PTK Florida Region, recently hosted an awards ceremony at Daytona State College.  The recipients were presented with a medallion. 

This year, ten students from the All-Florida Academic Team were awarded scholarships by Coca-Cola. Andres Roque, a Coca-Cola Bronze Scholar, received a $1000 scholarship.
