MCI Receives Donation

Miami, June 27, 2013 - The Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) at Miami Dade College (MDC) recently received a scholarship donation from the Coconut Grove Arts and Historical Association. The check presentation by the Association’s President Monty Trainer took place at Tuyo restaurant in the college’s downtown Wolfson Campus.

Funds provided by the organization provide financial assistance to students pursuing a two-year Associate in Science degree in Culinary Arts Management, which comes complete with hands-on instruction by some of the world’s best professional chefs.

The non-profit Coconut Grove Arts and Historical Association produces the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, and since its inception in 1963 has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to students who attend fine arts programs in local schools.

Attracting students from all over the world, MDC’s renowned Miami Culinary Institute offers an educational experience that is at the forefront of the industry. Building upon MDC’s rich history, MCI prepares students of all ages for dynamic careers in culinary arts through a perfect blend of technology, sustainability and customized professional development.
