Miami Dade College Kendall Campus to Host Empowering Resilient Communities Event Oct. 22

For a third consecutive year, Miami Dade College (MDC) will be among colleges and universities nationwide celebrating annual Campus Sustainability Day from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. The Kendall Campus will showcase and celebrate its sustainability-based initiatives, programs and student learning during its campus-wide event Empowering Resilient Communities. Free and open to the public.

Miami Dade College’s Medical Campus to Host First-Ever Health Fair for Migrant Workers Oct. 25

Miami Dade College (MDC) physician assistant students, representing Project SEED (Serving Everyone, Embracing Diversity), have partnered with the Farmworker Jobs and Education Program of Miami-Dade County and the Mexican American Council to offer the first community outreach initiative to the underserved migrant/seasonal farm working population of Homestead. The students will be on hand to provide basic health screening services to this group at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Migrant Labor Camp. The event is free and open to the public.

Get in the Spirit of Fright at MDC Kendall Campus’ Spooky Night

The Student Life department at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus will once again host its spectacularly fun Spooky Night from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the campus’ Fred Shaw Plaza. A $1 per person donation fee will benefit the Kendall Campus Student United Way campaign.

Miami Dade College’s Medical Campus Promotes The American Nurse, Oct. 27

– As part of the Benjamin Leon School of Nursing lecture series, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Medical Campus is promoting the screening of The American Nurse, a film that explores some of the biggest issues facing the U.S., through the work and lives of nurses. The event will take place at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, at the Muvico Hialeah 12 theatre. Tickets are $10.50, and the screening is open to the public.

Miami Dade College’s Annual Jazz Under the Stars Concert to Feature the Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra Nov. 1

Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design Forms Partnership with Word and Image Lab (WAIL)

Opening to the public on Saturday, Nov. 8, MOAD and WAIL institute a pop-up project gallery appropriately named WAIL l.a.b. (literature, art and books) with Zine-o-Mania! A World of Fanzines from the Special Collections at the University of Miami.

Miami Dade College Presents A Soldier’s Story Nov. 9

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus’ Music, Theater, and Dance Department – together with the Miami Wind Symphony – will present A Soldier’s Story. The patriotic program, composed by Fred DeSena and conducted by Rodester Brandon, will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, at Florida International University’s Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
