Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOAD) will present Rituales en Haití, an exhibition of photographs by Spanish-born photographer Cristina García Rodero, opening in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach 2013. Organized in partnership with Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the Consulate General of Spain in Miami and Centro Cultural Español, the exhibition opens to the public on Wednesday, December 4. Rituales en Haití is García Rodero’s first exhibition at the College’s flagship institution dedicated to the presentation and exhibition of visual art and design, housed at the National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower at Miami Dade College in Downtown Miami. The museum will host special public hours from noon until 7 p.m., during Miami Art Week, December 4 – 8. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

The book is a recollection of Esteve’s fruitful life, dedicated to public service and the defense of human rights.

As part of this year’s commemoration of International Human Rights Day, Miami Dade College (MDC) is inviting students, faculty and the greater community to witness the compassion, humor, and wit of the late “First Lady of the World” Eleanor Roosevelt. To pay tribute to the trailblazing rights advocate, the Wolfson Campus will hold a performance titled “Hammering Out Human Rights,” featuring a monologue and in-character Q&A session by actress and Roosevelt impersonator Susan Marie Frontczak.
