MDC Live Arts Turns Dance on Its Head with Season Finale!

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) MDC Live Arts and Miami-Dade County Auditorium present RUBBERBANDance Group at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s “On Stage Black Box” theater. The Montreal-based dance company will perform Empirical Quotient, a work that explores human relationships—situations of dependence, rejection, empathy, and acceptance—woven together in a complex display of athleticism and precision. Led by the remarkable duo of Victor Quijada and Anne Plamondon, the group features six exceptional performers whose backgrounds range from classical, contemporary, and urban dance to circus arts.

N.E. Third Street in Downtown Miami by MDC’s Wolfson Campus to be Renamed Berlin Wall Way May 27

Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado and the Consul General of Germany Jurgen T. Borsch will join Miami Dade College (MDC) President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón at MDC’s Wolfson Campus on May 27, at 11 a.m., for the renaming of N.E. Third Street as Berlin Wall Way.

Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design Presents Neighborhood Reclamation, a New Installation by Michael Vasquez

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOA+D) presents its latest swing/SPACE/miami project with an exhibition by Miami-based artist Michael Vasquez. Vasquez, an alumni of New World School of the Arts, presents a new installation and project titled Neighborhood Reclamation, a series of interspersed canvases that range in form and size. The figurative artist paints the typical trappings of an underserved community. A Director’s Preview will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at MOA+D located within the College’s Historic Freedom Tower. The preview is FREE and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view beginning Friday, May 29th through July 12th, 2015. The exhibition and supporting programs are FREE and open the public.

MDC’s Acclaimed School of Business to Host a Small Business Expo in Downtown Miami

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed School of Business will be hosting a Small Business Expo on May 30, at the Wolfson Campus. Registration begins at 9 am, and the Expo will be open from 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Admission is free, but attendees must RSVP.

Miami Dade College North Campus Joins Hands with Mexican Consulate to Present "Undeep" Art Exhibit

The North Campus of Miami Dade College, in partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico, will host a unique exhibit of paintings on canvas titled, “UNDEEP,” by Mexican artist Leni Ibargüengoytia. The Opening Program will take place at 11 a.m. June 3 at the North Campus Library.

Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design Presents New Exhibition by Cuban Artist Florencio Gelabert

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOAD) presents A Dialogue With Time, a new series of thought-provoking large-scale sculptures, installations, drawings and sketches by Cuban artist Florencio Gelabert never exhibited before. A Director’s Preview – $5 for general public and free for museum members, invited guests and MDC/NWSA students – will be held Thursday, May 28, from 6 - 8 p.m. at MOAD located within the College’s Historic Freedom Tower. The exhibition will be free and open to the public May 29 through August 16.
