Miami Dade College (MDC) invites South Florida students, parents, educators, and members of the local tech community to attend the first-ever Code Art Miami beginning at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at MDC’s Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex (MAGIC). Code Art Miami, a digital art exhibition and speaker symposium, is a collaborative effort between local Girls Who Code Clubs and Miami‐based CODeLLA, a non‐profit organization committed to teaching coding and tech skills to Latina girls from underserved communities. Miami Dade College (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOA+D) presents Scrollathon, an innovative series of educational outreach programs facilitated by artists and brothers Steven and William Ladd. Accompanying their exhibition Mary Queen of the Universe currently on view at MDC Museum of Art + Design, Scrollathon workshops will take place from February 22 – March 4 in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the YWCA Early Education Centers, New World School of the Arts, Lotus House Shelter, the Overtown Youth Center, among others, working with as many as 1,000 children throughout Miami. This Art Basel, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOA+D) presents Mary Queen of the Universe, a solo exhibition of works by New York based-artists and brothers Steven and William Ladd. Organized by the Parrish Art Museum in the Hamptons, NY, and curated by Terrie Sultan, the exhibition will open to the public Wednesday, Dec. 2, at MOA+D located within the College’s Historic Freedom Tower. On view through March 27, 2016, the exhibition and supporting programs are FREE and open the public.
