Former MDC Baseball pitcher Dixon Llorens, who played for the Sharks from 2010-2012 and former center fielder Brian Goodwin, who played for the Sharks in 2011 both touched the diamond again together on March 9, 2014 in Washington. But this time not as teammates but as rivals.
Dixon Llorens was drafted in 2012 in the 25th round to the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2012, Llorens’ sophomore season at Miami Dade College he pitched 83 innings, struck out 96 batters and had an ERA of 2.68.
During his 2011 season, Brian Goodwin had 60 Hits, 11 Doubles, 37 RBIs and had a batting average of .382. He led the team in batting average, runs, hits and was drafted to the Washington Nationals in the 1st Round.
