  • The Miami Dade College Lady Sharks have worked hard during this season to earn the right to compete in the FCSSA State Tournament in Pensacola, FL May 1-4.
    During the season the team has showed they are a team to be reckoned with as they have beat a few of the top teams in the nation such as #1 Indian River State College, #10 Polk State College, #18 College of Central Florida, and #19 Seminole State College.

    Currently, the Lady Sharks have a record of 29-12 and 10-5 in conference; while ranking #8 in the current FCSAA State Coaches Poll. They ladies have two more games left in the season, a double-header on Saturday, April 24, 2014 vs. State College of Florida, before they compete in post-season play. Saturday’s game will also serve as their sophomore appreciation day, as all of the graduating sophomores will be recognized for their efforts in the 2014 season.

    Leading the team in batting average is sophomore Raquelli Bianco batting .424 with a slugging percentage of .680, 53 hits, 28 RBIs and 7 homeruns. Leading on the pitcher’s mound is freshman Milena Calixto with an overall ERA of 1.11 and 133 strikeouts in 152 innings pitched.
