Lady Sharks Softball stays strong

  • The Miami Dade College Lady Sharks Softball team has kept everything on a high note and they now have an overall record of 18-10 and a conference record of 2-2. The Lady Sharks have come across some great completion, as they have played some of the top teams in the nation and shown that they can compete with some of the best.

The Lady Sharks have defeated three nationally ranked teams: #6 College of Central Florida , #15 Polk State College , and #2 Indian River State College.

Leading the team in hitting is sophomore Raquelli Bianco with a batting average of .443, 17 RBI’s, 39 hits, and 3 home runs. When it comes to pitching freshman Milena Calixto has carried the team with an ERA of .98, 85 strikeouts, and a current record of 11-4.

The Lady Sharks still have a lot of time to compete in conference play and still have hopes high to make it to post season play and compete in the FCSAA State Tournament. The Lady Sharks play again against Broward College on Wednesday March 26 at 2 & 4, and again on Saturday against Eastern Florida State College at 1 & 3 and both games will be home.
