Men’s Basketball

  • The Miami Dade College Men’s basketball team hit the road on November 29-30 to play State College of Florida-Manatee and Pasco Hernando. On Friday the Sharks lost to SCF-Manatee 83-92 and on Saturday the Sharks beat Pasco Hernando 120-71. Against SCF-Manatee sophomore Darius Perkins played with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assist.

    Also playing well was freshman Johnson Decembre with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. On Saturday the coaches decided to shake things up with a different starting 5 in hopes to wake the team up and it worked as the sharks had 6 players score in the double digits. Leading the team this game was sophomore Mike Ramey with 26 points, 2 assist, and 2 steals. Also standing out this game was freshman Kevin Portillo with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 1 steal.

    The Sharks now have an overall record of 8-2 and will be hosting their second tournament this season here at Miami Dade College on December 6-7. The Sharks will play on Friday against St. Petersburg College and then on Saturday they will play College of Central Florida.
