Men’s basketball started the season off with a bang opening the season with a 7 game winning streak. The Sharks now have an overall record of 13-4 and will begin Southern conference play on January 11th against Broward College at the Gibson Center on the Kendall Campus.
During the first half of the season, the Sharks had six games where they scored over 100 points; while leading the NJCAA with 3-pointers made per game with an average of 11.1. The Sharks are also 12th in the In assists per game, 20.2, and 18th in the nation for offensive rebounds per game, at 17.1.
Not only has the team been solid all around, but they have multiple leaders, such as Sophomore Darius Perkins who is ranked 8th in the nation for points and is also 1st in the nation for 3 pointers made per game. Not far behind him is sophomore Michael Ramey, who is ranked 12th in the nation for 3 pointers made per game. Standout sophomore Tre Boutlier is ranked 11th in the nation for offensive rebounds per game and 23rd for total rebounds.
Freshman Omar Roberts also has stepped up ranking 12th in the nation in assists per game.
The Sharks are excited and ready for the second half of their season and turn their goals into a reality by making it to the FCSAA State Tournament and NJCAA National Tournament. The Sharks come back from winter break with a home game on January 11 at the Gibson Center on the Kendall Campus against Broward College at 2:00pm.
