Sharks players and coaches huddle together and plan their strategy

  • Miami Dade College Women's Basketball has been playing with promise as they continue to move forward in the season. The Lady Sharks now have an overall record of 6-14 and 3-3 in the Southern Conference, adding Eastern Florida State College and Broward College to their list of victims this season. During the EFSC game on January 11, the Lady Sharks won 78-49 with the sophomores taking the game by storm.

    Vernessa Hinnant closed the game with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and five steals while sophomore Chanel Davis added 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

    The basketball team has now played the BC Seahawks twice in conference play and both times they have won. In the last game against BC the Sharks won 80-46 with Hinnant once again taking over with 18 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

    Though the sharks have showed great talent so far, they still lost in their last away game on January 25 against St. Petersburg College 52-74.

    The Lady Sharks will hit the road again on Tuesday, January 28 to play Indian River State College at 5:30 p.m. and will return for a home game match up on Friday, January 31 against St. Petersburg College at 5 p.m. at Miami Dade College Kendall Campus.
