The Music Institute


welcome to the music institute at kendall campus!

Course catalogThe Music Institute (MI) is a community music school designed to assist current young musicians to develop skills and improve their musical performance as well as provide a place for those seeking an opportunity to begin their musical studies. From beginners to advanced, there is a place for everyone at the Music Institute!

Through a collaborative effort between the School of Continuing Education and Professional Development and the Department of Music, Drama and Dance, the mission of the Music Institute is to make quality vocal and instrument instruction available to students of all ages and at all levels, as well as serve as a seamless pathway to study in higher education.

Through our program offerings, students will not only enhance their musical skills but also gain self-confidence, poise, creativity and critical thinking.  Instruction includes:

Training on the technical and musical aspects of music, Developing an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of musical composition, Experience in ensemble playing, Developing sight reading skills

Personal attention is given to each to student in order to nurture and cultivate their music interest.
