Program Overview

The Film Production Technology program prepares students to learn all aspects of the film industry through hands-on, production-oriented classes in the studio and on location. Students receive training in key areas of production such as cinematography, lighting, audio recording and editing, using high-end equipment to shoot 16mm film. Students are also exposed to video production and the business aspects of the film industry.

Program Details

The A.S. degree is designed for students who are looking for immediate entry into a career upon graduation. Most discipline courses directly relate to the identified career area. The remaining courses are comprised of general education courses.

MDC's film production curriculum is the most comprehensive program in all of South Florida. Areas of study include:
