Dual Enrollment Dual Enrollment is a program that allows eligible high school students currently attending accredited Miami-Dade County public or private high schools, or home schools to simultaneously enroll in a college course or courses. The credits that students earn must be used toward both a high school graduation and are acceptable towards an Associate or Baccalaureate Degree or Technical Certificate.
JumpStart is a unique program offered during the Summer B Term at the InterAmerican Campus of Miami Dade College. JumpStart is designed to help incoming college freshman transition to college by providing a strong academic foundation, individualized advisement, and a supportive learning environment. Selected high school seniors are accepted into the program based on their essay and completion of program eligibility requirements.
Students take two classes, Student Life Skills and Fundamentals of Speech Communication. The InterAmerican Campus offers free tuition for the two classes and pays for the course books. The benefit of the JumpStart program is that students can experience the Campus while it is less crowded than during the regular academic year. Participants have the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff, and they also learn where departments and services are located. The students make friendships which can serve as a support in their upcoming years as a college student.Learn More About JumpStart
