After I register, how many days do I have to pay for classes?back to top

You are normally given two days to pay for your classes. However, the deadline depends on the day you registered. Please refer to the bottom of your schedule for your actual payment deadline.

How can I pay for my classes?back to top

If you did not pay at the time you registered and you wish to pay online, you will need a MDC account. Click here to go to the Current Students page. Once there, click on "Pay my Fees."

The College accepts Visa and MasterCard credit cards, checks and money orders. Cash must be paid in person.

How do I drop a class?back to top

You may send us an e-mail stating why you want do drop your class to ceonline@mdc.edu.  Depending on the class you are taking you may get a refund or not.

Please include your MDCID number, and the title of the class on your e-mail.

Is my social security number my student ID?back to top

No. Your student number (or MDID) is a randomly generated number assigned by the College. To view your student ID number, log on to your myMDC Account.

Your MDID will print on class schedules and all other College-related documents.

What are your hours of operation?back to top

Hours of operation may vary by department or by campus; however registration is open college-wide: Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Our Continuing Education & Professional Development Online Main Office is opened from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  You may register for your online class at any time via the web.

What is the MyMDC Account?back to top

The MyMDC account is the username and password used to authenticate your identity when using all of the web services on the MDC website. These services include:

  • Accessing your MyMDC e-mail account
  • Changing Personal Information
  • Paying Fees
  • Printing your schedule
  • Registering for classes
  • Accessing MDC courtyard and lab computers
  • Viewing Unofficial Transcript
  • and many others...

The MyMDC account is not your student ID (MDID) number.

The MyMDC account username is also sometimes called the MyMDC account login or username.

The username/login of the MyMDC account is formatted: firstname.lastname### (For example: john.doe001)

The password of the MyMDC account must be at least 6 characters in length.

What can I do if I forgot my MyMDC account password?back to top

If you have forgotten your MyMDC account password, you have the following options:

  1. Visit the MyMDC Account Help Page located at https://myact.mymdc.net and select the link labeled "Reset Forgotten Username/Password".
  2. Contact the Student Account Help Desk at 305-237-2505.
  3. Visit any MDC campus Library or Computer Lab for assistance. A valid picture ID is required when resetting your password in person.

How do I forward emails sent to my school email to my personal email address?

To set up e-mail forwarding:

  • Log into your myMDC e-mail by going to http://email.mymdc.net
  • On the upper right, click on Settings
  • Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
  • Next to Forwarding, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to, then enter your personal e-mail address in the empty text box underneath.
  • Select whether you want to save a copy in the inbox, delete, or archive the original message.
  • At the bottom click Save Changes

Can I get financial assistance for the non-credit online courses?back to top

No, non-credit courses do not qualify for federal aid. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take non-credit courses.

What happens when I complete the program?back to top

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion from Miami Dade College, or from our Educational Partner.  If you are taking a class that awards CEUs, they will be reported to the State of Florida as appropriate.

What are Continuing Education Units?back to top

The CEU is a unit defined by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, to create a record of educational achievement broader than the usual school-based system of credits. One CEU corresponds approximately to ten hours of work. For some purposes, three CEUs is about the same amount of work as one college credit.

How do I view/request a transcript?back to top

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

You may view or print an unofficial copy of your transcript on our Web site at http://www.mdc.edu/transcripts/.

If you are a current student, you must use your myMDC account to log in and view the transcript.

If you are not a current MDC student and do not have a myMDC account, please select the "Login with Student ID" Option. At the prompt, use your social security number as your student ID and the month and last two digits of the year of your birth as your PIN. For example, August of 1971 would be entered as "0871."

Do you offer the GED Program Online?back to top

The GED Preparation Program can assist you in obtaining a State of Florida High School Diploma. The GED Program is free and it is offered at five of our campuses. We also offer GED in Spanish in the classroom. 
  
 What are the eligibility requirements for the GED Program?  
 Students must provide the following: 1) Social Security Card, 2) Florida State ID or Driver’s license, and 3) TABE placement scores. Prior to registration students must meet with an advisor.

After one year of study, completing Levels 1 thru 5 (any language), what level of proficiency could I expect to be at?back to top

Although language learning is subjective, one level of Rosetta Stone is approximate to one college semester of study.  A learner can expect to be able to communicate with native speakers in their new language upon the completion of 5 levels of any language in Rosetta Stone.
