Student Ambassador Program
Student Ambassadors at the Institute for Civic Engagement & Democracy (iCED) are students who represent the ideals of service and civic engagement with the entire campus body. It is a Federal Work Study position that offers the opportunity for students to serve the community while working and expanding upon their leadership skills.
Student Ambassadors assist both students and faculty with various service-learning projects each term, and they contribute greatly to the larger civic engagement events organized by iCED. Everything from Volunteer Expos to clothing drives and Days of Service to class-presentations about Service-Learning to service recognition events are coordinated with leadership from our Student Ambassadors. While these Student Ambassadors play an enormous role in the everyday operation of the office, the energy they contribute to all iCED events is invaluable and irreplaceable.
Success though is marked not in the number of presentations, or number of hours served by these Student Ambassadors, but in the leadership skills and professional experience gained through their time serving as student leaders with the Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy. To be a Student Ambassador with iCED is a great opportunity for growth, to implement creativity, and to develop as an active citizen.
