Library Instruction

The purpose of Library Instruction is to familiarize students with the library and to enable them to retrieve and evaluate information from a variety of resources in a variety of formats. Instruction sessions are conducted by reference librarians at each individual campus.  In these sessions, students learn how to find books using the library catalog and how to find articles and other information using electronic databases. Librarians also offer instruction on MLA & APA styles. Students may be asked to complete a Library Assignment to reinforce the concepts presented in class.

Library Instruction sessions may satisfy the requirement for Learning Outcome 4, Information Literacy.

To schedule a class for a Library Instruction session, fill out the library instruction request form.
