The Nation’s Leading Spanish-Language Theater Program Holding Auditions for Two-Year Professional Training Program in May

Miami, March 27, 2009 - The nation’s leading Spanish-Language theatre program, Prometeo Theatre at Miami Dade College (MDC), will hold auditions for its renowned two-year Professional Training Program May 13 and 14 for the classes commencing Fall 2009.

This Spanish-language, non-credit program includes training in acting, voice, movement and other related disciplines. It offers a rigorous, well-rounded curriculum of study for committed students where the actor’s unique potential is cultivated and encouraged.

Students receive instruction by distinguished, award-winning teachers, including master classes with guest artists.

To be considered, interested students must first submit an application with a $15 non-refundable fee. 

The deadline is May 10, 2009. Applicants can mail, download and fax (via www.prometeotheatre.com) or deliver in person.  Completed applications must be submitted on or before the deadline for processing and to schedule an audition time for each applicant.

Interviews and auditions, which will include two one-minute contrasting monologues, will be conducted in Prometeo Theatre, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Miami.

For nearly four decades, Prometeo, which is housed at MDC’s Wolfson Campus and is a vital part of the College’s acclaimed Florida Center for the Literary Arts, has been a national model of excellence in Spanish-language theatre production, education and training.

Prometeo Theatre is under the leadership of director Joann Maria Yarrow.
