Miami, September 17, 2009 - Miami Dade College was featured in a major report on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams on Sept. 16. In fact, over the last year the work of Miami Dade College has been covered by numerous national media outlets, highlighting the importance of community colleges, the current administration's focus on them, and the challenges MDC and other institutions face from surging enrollment and reduced funding. MDC has been featured in coverage by The New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Newsweek, CNN, USA Today and National Public Radio, to name a few. Because of MDC's standing nationally as a leader in higher education, these media outlets have turned to the college to tell the story about the issues facing the nation’s community colleges.
