Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus to Host its Exciting Fall Fest Nov. 17 – 21
Highlights include Latin Jazz Festival, golf tourney and children’s carnival

November has become a time of celebration at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus through education, art and music. Emerging from the overwhelming success of the campus’ 40th anniversary celebration in 2007, Fall Fest is quickly becoming a beloved event for the entire community. This year, it will take place from Nov. 17 – 21. The Kendall Campus is located at 11011 S.W. 104 St.
For this third edition, the campus is coordinating more than half a dozen high quality cultural and entertainment events. Highlights include:

The Kendall Campus hosts this golf tournament each year to raise money for scholarships and it has become a favorite among golfers who play in the region’s charitable tournaments. In past years, star athletes and coaches such as MDC alumnus Placido Polanco, Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, Marlins skipper Fredi Gonzalez and others have teed-off with participants. Carnival for Kids of All Ages Presented by University Credit Union

The fun activities will include rides, bounce houses, arts and crafts, rock climbing, bungee jumping, musical performances, clowns, carnival games, a train, slides, petting zoo, face painting, story telling, food, gifts and much, much more. It’s a wonderful event for the entire family especially during tough economic times. New this year at the carnival will be a Children’s Health Pavilion sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida where vision, dental and health screenings, healthy fun activities for kids and other helpful information on health and nutrition will be available. ADMISSION is only $1 for adults or with the donation of a canned food item. Children under 18 are admitted free.
“Partner sponsors” for the carnival include Costco, Miami Children’s Hospital, the Miami-Dade County Health Department and others.
