LAND O LAKES Half & Half® Stirs Up Support and Encourages Local Literacy at Miami Book Fair International

Miami, November 12, 2009 - The LAND O LAKES Half & Half Perfect Cup Café is pulling into the Miami Book Fair International, Nov. 13 – 15, and inviting consumers to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee to benefits Florida Center for the Literary Arts (FCLA) at Miami Dade College (MDC), which presents the Book Fair and hosts many more literary activities throughout the year.

“For every participant that shares his or her perfect shade of coffee at the Perfect Cup Café, LAND O LAKES Half & Half will contribute the price of the cup of coffee to the Florida Center for the Literary Arts,” said Mike Boswell, brand manager for LAND O LAKES Half & Half. “Each $2 donation will help support literary events that encourage reading and writing in South Florida.”

Miami Book Fair International is the largest and is regarded as the finest literary gathering in America. It is the premier event of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College. The Center promotes reading and writing throughout the year by consistently presenting quality literary activities open to all in South Florida. Literacy projects target children of all ages—from kindergarten to high school—as well as college students and adults. Established and emerging writers from South Florida and all over the U.S. read, lecture, and teach workshops. They work with K-12, MDC students, and diverse members of the community, helping to deepen their understanding of literature, and encouraging their work of writers at all stages of development.
