MDC School for Advanced Studies Offers Fall Recruitment Sessions
Miami, September 27, 2010 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School for Advanced Studies (SAS) will present a series of recruitment sessions. Prospective students and their parents can learn more about this unique opportunity to earn college credits while completing the last two years of high school. In many instances, students enrolled in the program earn a high school diploma and Associate in Arts degree simultaneously.
SAS has been recognized as one of the best high schools in America by Newsweek Magazine and U.S. News and World Report.
This year, 234 graduates were offered nearly $11 million in scholarships. Of those, 97 percent graduated summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude. In addition, the 2010 graduating class received acceptance letters from 35 of the top 50 universities in the nation.
SAS is a full time dual-enrollment school within MDC established in 1988 in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Serving low to middle income students, as well as many who are first in their families to attend college, the school prides itself on a providing a small school setting and focus on humanities and a traditional education.
