MDC’s Tower Theater to Launch Commercial Release of Paraiso

Miami, September 22, 2010 - As part of its premier international programming, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Tower Theater will present the commercial release of Paraiso, a film by renowned Cuban-American director León Ichaso, who will participate in the first screening on Friday, Sept. 24, at 9 p.m.
Filmed entirely in Miami, Paraiso tells the story of a Cuban rafter with a dark past, and his struggles while trying to adapt to a new society and make a living the only way he knows how. The film has had a successful run in festivals around the world, including the acclaimed Miami International Film Festival, produced and presented by MDC.
Paraiso is part of a trilogy (following El Super and Azúcar Amarga, or Bitter Sugar). The film is presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

Tickets for the film are $6 for the general public, $5 for students, seniors and members of the Miami Film Society.
