MDC’s Tower Theater Presents its Sixth Argentine Film Showcase

Miami, November 15, 2010 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Tower Theater, in collaboration with the Argentine Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Argentino), presents its Sixth Argentine Film Showcase, which will run Friday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 5.
The showcase kick offs on Nov. 20 with Dos hermanos(Two Brothers), directed by Daniel Burman and presented for the first time in Florida. This phenomenal production stars Graciela Borges and Antonio Gasalla, two of Argentina’s most beloved and acclaimed actors.
In addition, the series will show 12 productions never before screened in Miami. Among the films highlighted is Francia (France), the last production assembled by award-winning cinematographer Adrian Caetano, starring actress and singer Natalia Oreiro.
Other films include El artista (The Artist) and Por tu culpa(It Was Your Fault), directed by Mariano Cohn and Anahí Berneri; Paco, a drama by Diego Rafecas and starring Norma Aleandro and Esther Goris; and the documentary film Homero Manzi: un poeta en la tormenta (Homero Manzi: A Poet In The Storm), an homage to one of Argentina’s greatest poets.
Closing night will feature Horizontal/Vertical by Nicolas Tuozzo, and Rodney by Diego Rafecas.
