Miami Dade College Presents the U.S. Commercial Release of Arráncame la vida (Tear This Heart Out)

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Tower Theater, located at 1508 S.W. Eight Street, will present the U.S. commercial release of the most expensive Mexican film made to date, Arráncame la vida (Tear This Heart Out), directed by Roberto Sneider. The film, in Spanish with English subtitles, will play through February 3.
Based on the iconic novel by Ángeles Mastretta, one of the most outstanding writers of contemporary Mexican literature, Arráncame la vida (Tear This Heart Out) is the story of a young woman searching for freedom and identity during a transformative period in Mexican history.
The film won four Ariels (Mexican Academy Awards) and is Sneider’s second feature film as a director, writer and producer. In addition, the film was considered for a 2009 Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Sneider is best known for his production of Frida, based on the biography of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, which won two of its six Academy Award nominations.

Tickets are $6 for the general public, $5 for students, seniors and members of the Miami Film Society. Also, five-ticket packages are available for $20. Parking is free in the lot behind the theater.
