For the last two seasons, Wilkes has been consistently ranked among the top players in the nation and, last year, was selected to participate at the NJCAA All-Star games in Pensacola, and was named to the Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) All-State/All-Region team.

In addition to Wilkes, five other MDC student athletes were named to the 2011 All Southern Conference Team: Melanie Ducott (first team), Kandis Frederick (second team), Smiljana Cuk (second team), Tori Stephens (second team), and Kiana Morton (second team).
