Miami Dade College North Campus President Honored by South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Miami, March 31, 2011 - The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recently honored Dr. José A. Vicente, president of Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus, as one of the recipients of the 2011 Hispanic Leadership Awards. The awards are presented to Hispanic leaders excelling in their respective fields.

“Dr. José A. Vicente is a very well recognized and respected educator in South Florida and someone who has taken Miami Dade College North Campus to a superbly distinguished position. This has been accomplished due to his hard work, dedication, vision and leadership,” said Liliam M. Lopez, President/CEO of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “We are honored to have him as part of our South Florida community and to present the Hispanic Leadership Award in the Education category to him.”

“I am humbled by this recognition and to be in the company of such an illustrious group of community leaders.  My passion has always been promoting education at all levels because it is the best investment we can make in our community, directly impacting our society,” said Vicente.
