MDC’s Acclaimed Teatro Prometeo Offers Children’s Spanish-language Theater Camp
Miami, June 1, 2011 - Do you know a child who loves to perform? This summer, Miami’s only conservatory-style theater training school, Teatro Prometeo at Miami Dade College (MDC), offers a fun way to channel that energy. Working with award-winning teachers and artists, your child can explore their talents and grow through the performing arts.
At Teatro Prometeo’sLos Prometeitos Summer Theatre Camp, children ages 7 to 12 will have the opportunity to enhance their artistic skills in a two-week Spanish-language camp, which covers acting, singing and dance and a final presentation for the public.
The camp runs from June 13 – 24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a special performance on June 25. Prometeitos Summer Theatre Camp is based at MDC’s Wolfson Campus. The cost is $350 per child.
Teatro Prometeo, the dramatic arts component of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College, is an all Spanish-language theatre founded nearly 40 years ago at MDC’s Wolfson Campus with the mission of preserving the Spanish language and Hispanic culture through the theatre.
