Miami Dade College’s Health Care Certificate Programs Lead to Jobs…Fast
Miami, July 25, 2011 - To meet the growing demand for health care professionals, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Medical Center Campus is offering five short-term certificate programs in pharmacy technician, medical coder billing, massage therapy, phlebotomy, and medical assisting. These programs, which can be completed in just a few months, train students for health care careers for a fraction of the cost at a private college, or university.
Marcelo Leus earned a certificate in massage therapy from MDC last May. This summer, he opened his own massage and healing center near Coral Gables, the Holistic Relaxation Center.
“The quality of education I received was amazing; it completely surpassed my expectations,” Leus said. “MDC has taken me to a different level in my life.”
For more than 50 years, MDC has been an essential component of South Florida’s economic growth, helping to boost local businesses, providing quality education and job training. Most recently, the college has become a national leader in creating programs that address workforce needs.
