Miami Dade College’s InterAmerican Art Institute Offers Diverse Program

Miami, January 3, 2012 - Start the New Year with a creative flair at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Art Institute, a component of the InterAmerican Campus’ School of Continuing Education and Professional Development. Non-credit classes, workshops and lectures begin as early as Jan. 17 for the 2012 spring term.
The InterAmerican Art Institute is a place to discover and help develop the artistic abilities inherent in the community, as well as a means to raise cultural awareness, specifically among the student body. Choose from classes in art and music appreciation, dancing, painting, theater, sewing, jewelry making, and more. Some workshops and lectures are also offered in Spanish. In addition, students will have the opportunity to exhibit their works and visit local galleries, museums, concerts, and other cultural programs.
Classes are taught by renowned educators and local artists, including Baruj Salinas, Yovani Bauta, Daniel Fernandez, Sandra Garcia, Leonor Zarraluqui, Leonardo Navarro, Daysi Cepeda, and Sergio Bezard.
