MDC InterAmerican Campus to Host International Children’s Day July 22
Miami, July 3, 2012 - Theater will come to life for little ones during International Children’s Day on Sunday, July 22, at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus, as part of the XXVII International Theatre Festival. Sponsored by Target, this annual celebration of bilingual theater is presented in collaboration with Teatro Avante and The Center for Literature and Theater @ MDC. Free and open to everyone!
International Children’s Day features a variety of fun and engaging events the entire family can enjoy. There will be arts and crafts; live drumming; workshops for children in acting, dance, voice, and music; theatrical performances, and more.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Arts and crafts, rides, face painting, live drumming, and combo meals
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. Performance: Yo la llamo Rusita Rojas
4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Workshops: Acting, dance, voice/music, painting and puppetry
5:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Presentations by selected workshop participants
6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Performance: El encuentro de Juan Bobo y Pedro Animal
The InterAmerican Campus is located at 627 S.W. 27 Ave. Free parking will be available at the student garage (entrance on S.W. 7 St.).
