Miami Book Fair International Presents Innovative Programming for Teachers, Librarians, Other Educators
Miami, October 12, 2012 - This year’s Miami Book Fair International, presented by The Center for Literature and Theatre @ Miami Dade College (MDC), includes Teacher Fun Day!, a program designed to help teachers, librarians and other educators, such as homeschooling parents, perfect their craft and inspire creativity. Participants can expect tips, lesson plans and ideas that will inspire students to write, draw and channel their creativity. It will take place Thursday, November 15, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Registration is required and costs $30. To register, visit www.miamibookfair.com.

"YES... AND!“ Using the Rules of Improv Comedy in Writing and the Classroom with Chris Grabenstein, author of books for middle school students and frequent workshop leader.
Session 2:11 - 11:50 a.m.
Pop-up Books and Paper Engineering with Matthew Reinhart, creator of pop-up books whose workshops on creating simple pop-ups are popular with people of all ages.
Teaching Creative Writing with Scott Hutchins, novelist and professor of creative writing who leads a mentoring program for creative writing teachers-in-training at Berkeley.
Session 4: 2-2:50 p.m.
Keynote Presentation by Raina Telgemeier, multiple award winner and author of graphic novels for middle schoolers with experience teaching workshops all around the country.
The 29th edition of the Book Fair, the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering, will take place November 11 – 18, 2012, at Miami Dade MDC’s Wolfson Campus, 300 NE Second Ave., in downtown Miami. The always-popular Street Fair runs Friday through Sunday, November 16 – 18, with more than 200 exhibitors from around the country selling books in a festive atmosphere.
