Miami, August 19, 2013 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will once again host the International Young Ballet Medalists Performances at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, August 30. A component of the renowned International Ballet Festival of Miami, the performances will feature nearly 25 young medal winners of international ballet competitions, in collaboration with Youth America Grand Prix. This event is made possible through a longstanding partnership between MDC and the Miami Hispanic Ballet.

Now in its 18th year, the International Ballet Festival of Miami brings together the world’s most prestigious dance companies for a series of performances throughout Miami-Dade County. The two-week festival consists of ballet performances, workshops, a dance film series, an art exhibition, and master classes. Various top national and international ballet companies are represented by their greatest stars.

MDC, a cultural beacon throughout its 53-year history, is among the venues hosting performances.

“This is a golden opportunity for the community to appreciate international emerging talent in ballet,” said MDC North Campus President Malou C. Harrison. “With its newly renovated Arts Complex, the North Campus is proud to collaborate in promoting the arts with this presentation during the International Ballet Festival of Miami.”

The 11 a.m. show is presented free of charge exclusively for MDC and visiting high school students.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $25 for the general public and $20 for MDC students, faculty and staff.
