TheMiami Culinary Institute (MCI) at Miami Dade College (MDC) and Gambero Rosso Holding SpA, the leading food and wine publisher and educator in Italy, held a ceremony today and signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a new partnership that will allow students access to Gambero Rosso’s “Città del Gusto” (City of Taste) cooking schools in Rome, Catania, Palermo, Turin, Naples, and Milan. The MCI will be the exclusive educational partner of Gambero Rosso in the Eastern U.S.
The agreement was signed by MDC President Eduardo J. Padrón and Gambero Rosso President Paolo Cuccia. MDC Wolfson Campus President Dr. José A. Vicente was also present to commemorate this historic collaboration, as was Italy’s Consul General in Miami Adolfo Barattolo.
“This partnership will explore innovative initiatives to share food and wine education and entertainment programming between MCI, Gambero Rosso Channel and MDC TV, the college’s television station,” Dr. Vicente said. “Program activities will be based on several key objectives, including promoting exchange and internship opportunities; supporting innovation of new programs; sharing knowledge, culture and tradition of the culinary arts and wine industry; sharing best practices; and establishing a Gambero Rosso scholarship for MCI students, among others.”
