Miami Dade College’s School of Education to Honor 100 Spring Graduates at 10th Annual Completion Ceremony April 30

Miami, March 17, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Education will hold its 10th Annual Completion Ceremony for 100 soon-to-be graduates who will be receiving teaching certificates and four-year education degrees this spring. The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. The event is by invitation only but is open to the working media.

This year’s Completion Ceremony, titled “A Decade of Creating Super Heroes,” marks a major milestone for MDC’s School of Education, which produces a remarkable number of well-rounded teachers each year. Not only does the school provide four-year degrees with multiple concentrations, the school awards an increasing number of certificates to existing teachers who have degrees outside of education.

The ceremony will feature video clips of MDC teaching interns and inspiring words by the School of Education’s community partners.

“We have chosen the ceremony’s theme based on our strong belief that teachers are super heroes,” said Dr. Susan Neimand, director of the School of Education. “This is a monumental accomplishment for the School of Education to have so many qualified, passionate teachers who are changing the profession for the better.”

The School of Education is located at MDC’s InterAmerican Campus and will have graduated nearly 1400 teachers by this spring semester. By designing specialized academic and professional programs, the school provides the local and surrounding communities with the highest quality educators who will foster a bright, progressive future through dynamic, engaged methodology and technique.
