MDC Wolfson Campus Chapter of the Florida Future Educators of America Professional

Miami, April 11, 2014 - The Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus Chapter of the Florida Future Educators of America Professional (FFEA Pro) brought home the first place award for Chapter Spirit at the organization’s annual state conference in Orlando, where they competed against colleges and universities throughout the state.

Individual prizes went to MDC School of Education senior Krishel Panton, won first place for her powerful speech, “Giving Back”, which she presented before more than 250 conference attendees, and sophomore Andreany Arce, who won first place for her essay on a teacher who inspired her to reach for her dreams.

“I am so proud of our FFEA members for their achievements,” said Prof. Rebecca Sanchez, the chapter’s advisor. “They prove that MDC students are not just leaders in the classroom, but professionals outside of the classroom as well.”

FFEA is a pre-collegiate and collegiate program that provides a forum for students to become aware of career opportunities in education and nurtures their interest in teaching as a career. It also provides an avenue for collegiate members to stay informed of the latest issues and advancements in the education profession.
