At the conclusion of the regular season, the Sharks claimed the Southern Conference Title and qualified to participate in the state tournament. Head Coach Danny Price was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year and seven players made the All-Southern Conference First and Second teams. Freshman Darren Seferina not only made First Team All-Southern Conference, but he was also named to the FCSAA First Team All-State.

MDC baseball has always had a rich history of having some of the top players in the nation and during the State Tournament, they proved to be a team to be reckoned with. The team began their journey on May 10 against State College of Florida-Manatee and defeated them 4-3. The Sharks also played the College of Central Florida, and for the championship game, they defeated Polk State College to claim the title.

The Sharks will play in Grand Junction, Colorado, May 24-31, in hopes of bringing home a NJCAA national title. MDC’s athletic teams have earned a total of 33 NJCAA titles, including 13 in women’s sports.
