Miami Dade College to Present Argentine Cinema at Wolfson Campus

Miami, May 19, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Center for Latin American and Caribbean Initiatives (CLACI), together with the Consulate of the Republic of Argentina in Miami, will present Cine Argentino, screenings of two Argentine films selected for the International Film Festival of Mar del Plata, El gato desaparece and El fondo del mar. Actor and journalist Adriana Bianco will serve as emcee for both events, which will be conducted in Spanish.

Below is the schedule of screenings:

Friday, May 23, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

El gato desaparece – A psychological thriller about a professor who suffers from mental problems, blurring the line between fiction and reality. Directed by Carlos Sorín; in Spanish with no subtitles.

Friday, May 30, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

El fondo del mar – A comedy full of romance and mystery about one man’s odyssey through jealousy. Directed by Damián Szifrón; in Spanish with no subtitles.

Both screenings, which are free and open to the public, will take place at the Wolfson Campus, Room 7128, 300 NE Second Avenue. Free parking is also available at the MDC Garage (entrance located on NE Fifth Street, between First and Second Avenues).
