Miami Dade College’s Teatro Prometeo to Hold Auditions for its Conservatory in Theater Arts June 12

Miami, June 2, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Teatro Prometeo, offering the only institutional Spanish-language actor training program in the nation, will hold auditions for its two-semester Conservatory in Theater Arts at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12

This intensive program, which provides instruction in Spanish, prepares students for careers in theatre and film. The three-year commitment offers classes in advanced acting, voice and speech, physical theatre and world theatre history and includes professional workshops, staged readings, and internships with leading international industry professionals who hail from different parts of the U.S., Europe and Latin America. Actors of the program have the opportunity to perform for Teatro Prometeo’s repertory season as well as at national and international theatre festivals. Alumni have gone on to build professional relationships within the artistic community, as well as performing in New York, Los Angeles and Latin America. 

Classes begin in the Fall 2014. 

Students interested in auditioning should be prepared to present two, one-minute monologues of their choice in Spanish. There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee. Auditions and interviews are only available by appointment.
