Miami Dade College Inducts New Student Government Associations

U.S. flag 1

Miami, July 1, 2014 - Each summer before the fall semester begins, Miami Dade College (MDC) campuses each select Student Government Association leaders in various roles for the new academic year. They include president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, among others.

SGA members are chosen for their vision, advocacy, leadership, and professional capacity to serve as the face of excellence for their respective campuses. They also participate in key campus and college-wide initiatives, as well as during the legislative session and serve as advocates on campus and throughout the community. Each campus adopts a community project annually, consisting of activities that include feeding/clothing the homeless, providing information on a healthy lifestyle including proper eating habits and hygiene, and walks to fundraise for AIDS, diabetes, and breast cancer awareness, among others.
