MDC Kendall Campus Presents its Annual ‘On Stage Concert Series,’ Now Through December
Miami Dade College Kendall Campus will present its On Stage Concert Series beginning Oct. 6 through Dec. 11, 2009. All performances will be held at the Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104th St., in Kendall, unless otherwise indicated. Held every fall, the concert series combines the talents of students and faculty from the College’s music, theater and dance department.

MDC’s Art Gallery System to exhibit Michael Hall’s collection of Giambologna at the Freedom Tower

MDC Homestead Campus Art Gallery Presents Latest Works of South Florida Artist Luis Nunez
Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Homestead Campus is hosting an exhibition of Florida landscape paintings by acclaimed South Florida artist Luis Nunez. The Celebrating the Florida Landscape exhibition will be presented through Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at the Library Art Space Gallery of the Homestead Campus. The exhibition will showcase some of Florida’s most captivating sites as depicted in Nunez’ work —from the lush subtropical south to the sober temperate northern part of this unique and unusually beautiful part of the world.

World’s Best Latin Jazz Musicians on One Stage for One Magical Night Nov. 20 at MDC's Kendall Campus
Arturo Sandoval, Nestor Torres, Albita, Roberto Perera, Ed Calle and several other top Latin jazz musicians will jam on the same stage for one magical night on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus during the 3rd Annual Latin Jazz Festival.

MDC Journalism Speaker Series Presents Pulitzer Prize-winning Features Writer Lane DeGregory
This year, Lane DeGregory's powerful and compassionate writing earned her a Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. DeGregory’s stories have also appeared in The Best Newspaper Writing 2000, 2004, 2006, and 2008 editions. On Friday, Nov. 20, at noon, Miami Dade College will present DeGregory as part of its acclaimed Journalism Speaker Series. The event will be held at the Wolfson Campus in downtown.

MDC Kendall Campus Golf Classic in Full Swing During Fall Fest Festivities Nov. 20
In addition to several quality cultural and educational events, the line-up for Miami Dade College (MDC) Kendall Campus’ Fall Fest 2009 includes the popular annual Kendall Campus Golf Classic on Friday, Nov. 20, at 9:30 a.m., at Calusa Country Club. A beloved event in the charity golf club circuit, this tourney raises money for MDC scholarships and is always attended by star athletes and celebrities.

MDC and USDA to Host National Federal Grants Conference and Webcast Dec. 4
Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Hispanic Serving Institutions National Program will host a National Federal Grants Conference for representatives of Hispanic-serving institutions and community-based organizations on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (EST). The conference will also be streamed live to institutions and organizations nationwide.
