Monitoring Tropical Storm Chris
Once again, a storm has developed off our shores. The Miami Dade College Emergency Planning Team is monitoring the track of Tropical Storm Chris and maintaining regular contact with officials in our community and throughout the state.
While Chris appears to be losing strength, we are all too familiar with the unpredictability of storms. Please remain vigilant and review the key points in preparing for a storm's approach. As always, our primary concern is for the safety of each person.
Keeping in touch: While the projected track of Tropical Storm Chris moves the system even farther south, we will continue to monitor its progress and provide additional information and instructions, if necessary, on the MDC Hotline and web site.
- MDC Hotline (general information): 305-237-7500
- MDC Employee Hotline (specific instructions, as needed): 305-237-7505
- MDC Website: www.mdc.edu
Preparations: While the impact of this storm may not be as severe as originally anticipated, it serves as a great exercise to test our preparedness. Please use this time to review emergency plans at the workplace and home so they may be quickly implemented, if necessary, at any point during this hurricane season.
Thank you for your attention and let’s hope this season is a safe one. I am looking forward to the start of our academic year with high hopes and enthusiasm.
