MDC Trustee News: Appointment of Robert H. Fernandez, Re-appointment of Peter Roulhac, and Farewell to Hank Klein

I am very pleased to announce that Governor Charlie Crist has appointed Robert H. Fernandez to serve on Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees. The Governor has also re-appointed Peter Roulhac to MDC's Board.

Mr. Fernandez is an attorney with the highly-regarded national firm of Akerman Senterfitt, specializing in the areas of disaster preparedness and recovery and commercial policy and litigation. He is the former Deputy General Counsel for the Executive Office of the Governor, serving as advisor to Governor Bush and the General Counsel. Among his many professional activities, Mr. Fernandez serves on the Board of Governors of the Hispanic National Bar Association, and was the past regional president for Florida. He is a graduate of Columbia University and New York University School of Law.

Governor Crist's re-appointment of Peter Roulhac is also very welcome news. As CEO of the Orange Bowl Foundation, Mr. Roulhac brings invaluable community perspective to the Board. He also brings a commitment to MDC that is unmatched.

We also offer a fond farewell to our Board's vice chairman, Hank Klein. Mr. Klein has served the College and this community in a distinguished and dedicated fashion for many years. He will continue to make an impact in his chairman's role at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you.
