Soaring through the 21st century at Conference Day
Miami Dade College's annual Conference Day will be held at Kendall Campus on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m., and continued programming through 4:30 p.m.
At this year's Conference Day, faculty, staff and administrators will have the opportunity to engage in programs designed to address the needs of the local and international learning community. Themed "Visioning the Future...Soaring through the 21st Century," Conference Day 2009 will prepare the College to embrace technological innovations, global interdependence, sustainable environments and multicultural experiences.
The Conference Day Planning and Technology committees have implemented several ecological and technological improvements to the 2009 Conference Day program, including:
- Electronic programs By visiting the Conference Day Web site, you will be able to quickly and simply build your Program Agenda. You can print your Program Agenda or request a link to be e-mailed to your Outlook account. If you have a Smart Phone or ITouch device with an Internet connection, you will be able to download and view your Program Agenda. Because there will not be printed programs available at registration, it is important to plan early in advance, create your Program Agenda, and bring a copy to Conference Day.
- Electronic registration. During the registration period, all you will need to do is swipe your MDC ID card or enter your MDC employee number at a designated kiosk.
More than 500 colleagues contribute to the success of Conference Day, and I would like to extend a special thank you to Patrick Nellis, district director of College Training and Development; Leigh Hardaway, director of Conference Day; Richard Chance, chair of the Vendor Fair Committee; the Conference Day Planning, Technology, and Logistics committees; and all of the presenters, volunteers, consultants, vendors and internal work groups for their work in making Conference Day 2009 possible.
If you have any questions about Conference Day 2009, please contact Leigh Hardaway at ghardawa@mdc.edu or 305-237-0614.
Thank you.
