Outstanding MDC alumni to be honored at Seventh Annual Hall of Fame Gala

Miami Dade College will once again recognize some of our best, brightest and most successful alumni during the Seventh Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Awards gala. This year's celebration will take place on Thursday, April 16, 6 p.m., at Jungle Island and will honor the career achievements of 23 accomplished alumni, working in such fields as architecture, business, education, journalism, law, medicine, public safety and visual arts.

Inductees to the 2009 MDC Hall of Fame include: Carlos Martinez, public defender, Miami-Dade County; Dr. Elsa Murano, president, Texas A&M University; Tony Segreto, retired news anchor, WTVJ NBC Channel 6; Beatrice Louissaint, president, Florida Regional Minority Business Council; Juan del Busto, regional executive, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; and author Lin Arison. A complete list of inductees is included below. Hall of Fame honorees are recognized for their positive influence on their profession, the community and the College.

Individual tickets to the Hall of Fame cocktail reception and dinner are $250. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alumni Association Student Scholarship Fund.
