MDC Earns "Great Colleges to Work For" Distinction for Third Straight Year

Miami Dade College has received countless honors for our outstanding programming and our operations. We can proudly add to that list of accolades, as The Chronicle of Higher Education, for the third year in a row, named MDC to its Great Colleges to Work For program. For the second time in three years, the College also made the Chronicle's Honor Roll, a distinction given to institutions cited most often across all of the recognition categories.

MDC was recognized in all four of the major categories reviewed: Leadership, Careers, Compensation and The Workplace. We received accolades for Collaborative Governance; Professional/Career Development Programs; Job Satisfaction; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; Respect and Appreciation; and Diversity.

The College joins Georgia Tech, Duke, USC, Notre Dame and other prestigious institutions on the list of colleges recognized.

The Chronicle's two-part assessment process consisted of an institutional audit that collected demographics and workplace policies and practices, and a survey administered to a randomly selected group of hundreds of administrators, adjunct and full-time faculty, and professional-support staff. Nearly 44,000 college employees and more than 310 institutions nationwide participated in the application process.

The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the feedback collected from faculty and staff members, and I would like to thank everyone who took part in the application process. I am very proud of this honor, especially during a time when many challenges continue at colleges and universities across the country.

Thank you for making MDC a great college to work for.

Eduardo
