Commencement 2012 Schedule and Speakers

Commencement is the most important event on MDC's calendar each year, representing the culmination of hard work and dedication by everyone at the College. On Saturday, April 28, we will recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of more than 13,000 MDC students at five commencement ceremonies across the community.

The Class of 2012 will be addressed by an impressive lineup of state and national leaders. Cecilia Munoz, director of the Domestic Policy Council at the White House, will kick off the day’s ceremonies for InterAmerican and Homestead campuses. Dr. Richard Haass, president and CEO of the Council on Foreign Relations, the nation’s most highly respected policy and research group, will speak at the North Campus and MDC West ceremonies; Dr. James Bernard “Bernie” Machen, president of the University of Florida, will deliver the commencement address at Kendall Campus; Dr. Judith Rodin, president of the Rockefeller Foundation, will address the graduates of the Wolfson and Hialeah campuses; and The Honorable Jennifer Carroll, Florida’s Lieutenant Governor, will address Medical Campus graduates. All commencement speakers will draw on extensive life experiences to deliver inspiring and timely addresses.

Please see the complete Commencement 2012 schedule and lineup below. I look forward to seeing you at the ceremonies.

Thank you.

Eduardo
