Miami, April 16, 2013 - School for Advanced Studies (SAS) Kendall junior Haley Zilberberg won both the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest and the 2013 MLK Oratorical Contest. Each year New Visions for South Dade Inc. organizes these two very special contests which are sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Both the essay contest and oratorical competition are conducted to honor the legacy of Dr. King and the civil rights movement. To win both competitions, which require exceptional ability in two different skill sets, is quite an accomplishment. SAS is very proud of this outstanding scholar who will receive two $500 checks signifying First Place in each of the competitions.
